Construction and Engineering

Larrain y Asociados has extensive experience advising international and local clients in the development of engineering and construction in Chile, such as roads construction, sea and land ports, hospitals, logistic centers, mining and industrial facilities, hydroelectric power and thermal plants and LNG terminals, among others.

Our advice covers different stages that make up the infrastructure projects, from their creation to the bidding phases, planning of financing agreements, preparation and negotiation of contracts, handling of claims and resolution of disputes, including arbitrations and litigations. In each phase we ensure compliance with the regulatory, administrative, environmental, tax and corporate aspects associated with the project.

Representative Experience

We acted for Cementos Bicentenario S.A. (BSA) in the RFP process and in the negotiation and drafting of EPC Agreements for the construction of a cement plant in Santiago and unloading facilities in the port of San Antonio. We also advised in the negotiation and drafting of a railway transport long term agreement to supply the cement plant with clinker from the port facilities.

Representative Experience

Advised the bidding group constituted by Sacyr S.A. and OHL (Concesión Américo Vespucio Oriente), which was awarded this urban highway, one of the largest and most important public works made in Santiago, with a length of approximately 9.1 kilometres.

Representative Experience

Advice from the beginning of the process to Sociedad Concesionaria Autopista del Aconcagua S.A. (Globalvía), company in charge of the construction and operation for 30 years of the highway that connects Santiago with the city of Los Vilos in the north of Chile. This operation was awarded by the State of Chile to SCADA under the public concession system (public tender process).

Subsequently, we assisted the concessionaire in the agreement, drafting proposals and the relevant contracts, for the construction of new works and tolls requested by the State.
